Vita

Eric Alliez is Professor of Contemporary French Philosophy at the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Kingston University London. He wrote his doctoral thesis under the supervision of Gilles Deleuze at the University of Paris VIII. He was the Directeur de programme at the Collège International de Philosophie (1984 –1986 and 1992 – 1998), Chair of Aesthetics at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna (2000 – 2003) and, in 2002 – 2003, Directeur de recherche associé at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. Eric Alliez worked as a visiting professor in Rio de Janeiro, Warwick, Vienna, London, and Karlsruhe. He is a member of the editorial committee of the journal Multitudes and editor of the works of Gabriel Tarde.
