The talk will focus on a clip from the film Let Me Count the Ways (2004) by the experimental filmmaker Leslie Thornton, supplemented by short clips from The Last Time I Saw Ron (1994) and
The Great Invisible (2002).

On the basis of these sequences Mary Ann will discuss the effects of the use of found footage in relation to indexicality and historicity.
