Laura Frahm holds a Master’s Degree (M.A.) in Theater, Film and Television Studies, History of Art and Spanish/Romanic Studies from the University of Cologne. From January 2005 until December 2007 she was a DFG-Fellow at the Transatlantic Graduate Research Program Berlin | New York »History and Culture of the Metropolis in the 20th Century«. Her dissertation, entitled »Metropolis in Transformation. Filmic Topologies of the Metropolis in the 20th Century«, was finished in April 2008 and published in 2010. In Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 she was Visiting Scholar at Columbia University and NYU, New York City. From April 2008 on, she is researcher and lecturer at the International Research Institute for Cultural Technologies and Media Philosophy.

•     theories of space, topology and cinematic spaces
•     metropolitan studies, cultural aspects of urban environments
•     videoclips, short film and new media art
