Martin Schulz

Martin Schulz has obtained his PhD in Art and Media History at Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, Department of Art and Media Theory, in 2006 his habilitation in Art History. 
Currently Martin Schulz is the scientific coordinator of the interdisciplinary DFG Graduate School »Bild. Körper. Medium. Eine anthropologische Perspektive« at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. He is also a lecturer in Art and Media Theory at the Fridericiana University of Karlsruhe. Martin Schulz was visiting professor for Art History at Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena, at the Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf and fellow at the International Research Center for Cultural Studies in Vienna.  

Fields of research

Modern and contemporary art; cultural studies of pictures and their media (Kulturwissenschaft der Bilder und ihrer Medien); picture and art theory; anthropology of pictures; history of landscape painting.
