IKKM Books Vol. 2 now available

Matthias Bickenbach’s and Harun Maye’s Metapher Internet aims at developing a genealogical path between the common nautical metaphors known in conjunction with the internet and older concepts of literary education. The common denominator is the possibility of innovation and chances of education that are bound in metaphors of water and sea. Concepts like navigation and surfing describe an operative handling of texts and information that can be called literary education. The book’s surprising insight shows that such concepts were already called upon by Johann Gottfried Herder, Wilhelm von Humboldt and Johann Wolfgang Goethe.

The book is now available from the Berlin Kadmos-Verlag.
